What is a smartcard?
It is an electronic ticket in the form of a plastic card with an embedded microchip that stores your travel tickets. Smartcards are re-usable and can be loaded on bus with smart tickets including ABC Day or ABC Weekly passes.
Can I continue to use my current Smartcard?
Yes, provided you have an existing branded smartcard or a National Entitlement Card (NEC) then you will be able to purchase your ABC product directly from the bus driver.
Can I use an app to purchase my ABC product?
Yes, The ABC products are now available on both the Xplore Dundee app and Stagecoach app. On the Xplore Dundee app, select mobile tickets and choose the ABC Day or Weekly product from the list of ADULT Tickets. On the Stagecoach app, select get your ticket and choose the ABC Day or Weekly product. Moffat & Williamson do not currently have an app but will continue to accept all ABC products bought on the other operators’ apps.
Is there a version for children/students?
No, with the introduction of free travel for Under 22s in Scotland, the Child ABC products have been discontinued.
What about under-5s?
Children aged under five travel for free when accompanied by an adult.
